Drug mixing

Image for Drug mixing

Thank you to Professor Jerry Nolan for sending us this shot of an A22BL-Set in use.  Its a fantastic demonstration of how A-Sets keep the infusions completely separate until they meet the buffering capacity of the blood.  Mixing drugs outside the body (especially in connector systems) is potentially hazardous for patients.

The photo also shows how well the braiding in the gravity (drip) limb prevents the line from obstructing when it is turned backwards for positioning.

Great photo Prof!
